Workshops & Events
All workshops are held at Art from the Heart studios, which is based in Harrogate and are available for participants that are 16 and over. The studio is based next to our shop, so you can also have an all important browse while you attend.
.
All equipment is provided, unless stated in the workshop description. There is no need to bring any supplies with you, unless stated - we do that for you! The very important tea and coffee is also provided to keep you fuelled for the day. Each workshop will allow a break for lunch and you can either bring your own or we are in the same building as Indulge Deli, who serve a range of sandwiches, salads, soups, jackets and more.
.
The studio is on the first floor, but we do have a lift at the far end of the building for those that need access. There are male and females toilets located on the first floor, along with an additional disabled toilet on the ground floor.
.
For workshops starting at 10am, the shop will open from 9:30am, so please come in and register with us before the workshop starts (first door on the left). The studio will open at approx 9:45am and the workshop will start at 10:00am.
After a short break from teaching Kate is back with a play day using her latest collection for Paper Artsy. Pictures to follow once the latest collection is released….. Lots of painting, Infusions, stencilling, and general merry mess making! Cards, tags, journal pages … Of course Kate will bring along her previous collections too so plenty of choice and different stamps and stencils to play with on the day.
Also, if you can keep a secret, I will have brand new Dylusions releases for you all to play with…shhh!!
I will be working in my large Dylusions journal, but any of the Dylusion journals will work. Can’t wait to see you all.
Working in small squares is such a fun and liberating way to make art. Keep it small and cute or make and more and more squares and go large! Large art made from small art is the way to go. Lots of techniques in this class – collage, mark making, mixed media layers, abstract watercolours, stamping, found poetry, stitching … we might even throw in a bit of shrink plastic! Do them all or stick with your favourite, it’s up to you. Small art can be used on tags, cards, journal pages, wall art, mini books - it really is so flexible and lends itself to many projects. Kate will also show you how to make and fold your own mini matchbox frame to create super cute mini art. We’ll be using all sorts of materials on the day and we’ll have plenty to use
