Workshops & Events

All workshops are held at Art from the Heart studios, which is based in Harrogate and are available for participants that are 16 and over. The studio is based next to our shop, so you can also have an all important browse while you attend.

All equipment is provided, unless stated in the workshop description. There is no need to bring any supplies with you, unless stated - we do that for you! The very important tea and coffee is also provided to keep you fuelled for the day. Each workshop will allow a break for lunch and you can either bring your own or we are in the same building as Indulge Deli, who serve a range of sandwiches, salads, soups, jackets and more.

The studio is on the first floor, but we do have a lift at the far end of the building for those that need access. There are male and females toilets located on the first floor, along with an additional disabled toilet on the ground floor.

Friday 21st February - Art Journaling with Dyan Reaveley - 10-4pm

Well I’ve been promising for a while now, so here we are! A whole day of art journaling the Dylusions way. Bright colours, quirky images, snarky sayings and the ever so important finishing touches, resulting in a fabulous journal pages.
Also, if you can keep a secret, I will have brand new Dylusions releases for you all to play with…shhh!!
I will be working in my large Dylusions journal, but any of the Dylusion journals will work. Can’t wait to see you all.

Saturday 18th January - Making the most of Mini's with Kate Crane - 10-4pm

Mini stamps don’t have to mean mini art! Kate has an expanding collection of mini stamps for Paper Artsy, and in this class, you will experiment with repetition, Mandala shapes, and other ways to produce magnificent art on a grand scale using credit card size stamps and stencils. There will be stamping, stencilling, inks, paints and general colourful creative mess making! We will mostly work in art journals although you are free to work on loose card if you prefer.

Saturday 22nd February- Art Journal College-with a difference & Kate Crane - 10-4pm

The word collage brings a certain image to mind but this is collage with a difference. Most of us have lots of painted scraps and transparent overlays lying around in our box of things ‘too good to get rid of’ but then they usually lie there neglected until we get sick of them and throw them away. Kate is going to show you how she uses these scraps to create larger scale art journal pages, using up lots of leftovers to create something to be really proud of. And finally we’ll add some stamps from Kate’s *new* collection for Paper Artsy (shhhhh!)

If you don’t have scraps don’t worry, there’ll be plenty of opportunity to create some!

Saturday 22nd March - Fabulous Florals with Kate Crane - 10-4pm

A great way to welcome spring and look forward to summer, with a truly mixed media class with a focus on flowers and beautiful blooms.

(But hang on a minute ... Kate hasn’t got any floral stamps? Shhhhh ;-) watch this space …) **Project photos to follow**

We’ll work in art journals and also play with projects, and we’ll focus on brilliant bright colours and balanced neutrals for a perfect overall feel.

Fri 25th & Sat 26th April - Double Dose of Mixed Media with Kate Crane (2 day) - 10-4pm

For those of you that have a way to travel, or just those of you who want to indulge in a little bit more creativity we offer two consecutive days with Kate, playing with mixed media, brilliant bright colours, and general creative mess making! We’ll play with a variety of techniques to create beautiful backgrounds and we’ll use those backgrounds to create our projects with a focus on paper piecing mixed media style. Kate will have new releases from Paper Artsy (shhhh!) by then so keep an eye out for photos and projects nearer the time. But rest assured, there will be lots of colour, a variety of techniques, and lots of messy fun and inspiration.
