Lennon Tool Bar - 30ml Ink - Guardian Beasts - Feng Shi Ye

Guardian Beasts refer to the loyal protectors often seen in Taiwanese traditional beliefs. Some guard temples, others preserve history, some calm strong winds, and others have served under different religious beliefs. These guardian beasts silently safeguard people across Taiwan.

Feng Shi Ye is a popular stone statue on the streets of Kinmen. Though resembling a lion, they are not called stone lions. Besides warding off evil spirits, they serve a crucial purpose: residents place them at intersections to shield against strong sea winds, their capes fluttering dashingly in the breeze.

Lennon Tool Bar was founded in 2014 at Tamsui, Taiwan. Initially they produced and promoted the art and craft of Indigo Dyeing, a business that flourished a century ago when Taiwan exported a considerable amount of “doroai” — or the raw material of colourants used in Indigo Dyeing — to the Japanese Empire.
