Index cards really were my springboard into the world of mixed media and art journalling and they are the perfect starting point for trying out lots of new ideas...
Cheap and a perfect size for play we will spend the day creating a variety of both backgrounds and finished cards and learn lots of new techniques along the way... But be warned....it's addictive!!
Using a selection of my PaperArtsy stamp sets and the brightest colour paints we can find, we will create this amazingly vibrant and funky art journal double page spread.
We will paint, stamp and cut out our flowers before layering them into a painted background. This really is a class you don't want to miss !
Want to look at beach huts all day? Me too. You can by making your own perfect beach hut mixed-media painting. Full of colour, layers and texture, to put in your favourite spot at home. You'll spend the day learning techniques for layering up your mixed-media painting with different textures, blending and painting beautiful colour, stamping and stencilling without thinking too much to make your unique painting that you'll love. As well as having a fun day with your crafty friends. As always we will be providing most of the supplies, just please bring with you a fine detail paint brush and a brush for using with gel medium. We have black Stabilo pencils in the studio but if you'd like to bring your own then feel free.
Sometimes it's just so satisfying to go back to basics and create backgrounds in our journals with no thought about a finished page !!
Come and join me for a day of creating colourful and rich background pages. We will use various mark making techniques using both handmade tools and stamps, stencils and more and just enjoy being free to explore.
Be warned though that once you start it becomes addictive !!!
Taking 2 of the new medium etcetera tags from Tim Holtz, I will take you through several different techniques to create 2 very different looking tags.
We will be using a whole range of products including distress paints and crayons, Dina Wakley stamps, texture paste, ephemera and idea-ology.
We will be using cards and envelopes to make our booklets and then we will be decorating them with a combination of Infusions and Elenazinski art stamps.
We will also be colouring our stamped images with Ecoline Watercolour Brush Pens to give a colourful finish to your project.
People are always telling me they ‘can’t write’ and ‘my writing is lovely’. During this workshop we will create a booklet using a combination of papers, Distress Oxides and Dylusion paint backgrounds. We will then decorate them with various writing techniques, doodles and stamps/ The main emphasis will be on the writing, so please bring along your favourite journal pens.
Dylusions has anew style of journal out - The flip. We will be creating a fabulous waterfall of pages decorated within an inch of their lives! Inking, painting, stencilling, borders, stamping and doodling. And a fabulous stitched canvas cover to finish.

I love quirky little mixed-media paintings, they look great on the wall. I love love love doing backgrounds but why confine them to a journal?
We are going to take those paint techniques and combined with some eclectic patchwork, totally transform a plain apron. Some canvas here, a frill there, add a couple of buttons and voila, a work of art, ready to wear!!

Spend the day with me and your crafty friends making this beautiful mixed media canvas, we'll be using lots of mediums to build up the layered background, and learn how to create texture using Golden's Clear Tar Gel on the flowers, which is a great medium to have in your mixed media stash. Please bring your favourite journal and black and white Journalling pens are always advisable.
In this class we’ll go over how to do brush lettering, limber up our lettering skills then make a “word Cloud” of your choosing. All you need to do is write a list of things that you love, and what makes you happy. We will then build up our word cloud with all the words in your list. You’ll learn how to use coloured brush pens to write key words and use a black brush pen to fill in all the areas around your key words until you make a fabulous word cloud, you’ll be making them as gifts for all your family in no time.
There are plenty of coloured brush pens in the studio, but if you could bring with you a fine black brush pen this would be helpful, they can be purchased in the shop too.

Come and join Sandra to create a striking black and white booklet using the beautiful new stamps from Miranda Van de Bosch. You will make the booklet from scratch adding lots of flaps, pull out sections and 2 ATC sections. Before going on to decorate the booklet using Miranda's stamps and lots of doodling.
Please bring along your favourite black and white journal pens. Don't worry if you don't have any as the shop stocks lots of various style pens.
Using a backgrounds dyalog we will be creating quick, quirky and fun pages. I will take you step by step through some pages and then let you create your own using the techniques Andy tips that I will give you. We will also be adding some writing to our pages, again with some help and practice from me.
Please bring along your favourite journaling pens.
In this class you’ll learn all things mixed media, from making the textured backgrounds, to adding lots of interest through stamping, stencilling, and painting. You will not need drawing skills for this class, it is accessible for everyone. You’ll also learn some shading techniques and also some brush lettering to write the words on your canvas. All in good time for Halloween. All materials will be provided.
If you have a black brush lettering, and a white highlighting pen please bring this with you.
Would like a class of contrasts? Then this is the class for you. We will be creating on two etcetera tags, but, whilst we will be using very similar background techniques, including a peeled paint effect, each tag will have a very distinctive look. One tag will be given a vintage Tim style look and the other will have a bright vivacious Dylusions style look.
I taught this class in August and we had such a lovely time I wanted to teach it again. My Christmas stamps are releasing late September and I just had to include them.
As many of you know stamping is one of my great loves and today we will be going old school. All the cool techniques I've taught over the years are making a comeback and so I've had a ball revisiting them. We will be working in the large flip journal and filling it full of fabulousness .

You can personalise your cards with names in your family, quotes you always say, or just Christmas Greetings.
This class is suitable for beginners or intermediates. We'll limber up our brush lettering practice and then start making lots of cards.
We'll be using stamps and glitter too to add Christmas bling and you can have a go at using watercolours to add easy Christmas decoration to your cards. Please bring with you your black brush pens, there will be some Tombow coloured brush pens to use in class.

The morning of this workshop will be spent learning collage and beeswax techniques, in preparation for an afternoon of creating. Ooh messy, painty waxy, playtime. What more could you want...??
These mini 6x6cm books, using kits by Tando Creative, are so easy to build and customise to create something which is truly unique and your own.
We’ll begin by printing papers to create our pages and collage materials, and then design and paint the covers. We will then bind our books with Tweed or Hessian, and then fill one with colour and one with funky collage!
Good things come in small packages, and this is no exception! Decorate a large matchbox, and then make a cute concertina journal before filling it with pattern and colour. We’ll use acrylic paints, stamps. Stencils, pastels, collage … and anything else we feel like!
Due to its size it is possible to complete this little package of goodness in a single workshop, and when complete it is the perfect size for your handbag ready for some extra journaling when the mood strikes!

I made these back in June when it was red hot everywhere. I put carols on to get me in the mood and then got so engrossed I didn't want to stop. I half expected it to be snowing outside, lol. I haven’t taught a star book for quite a while now but this bootalicious Curtain Call range of paper from Graphic 45 was crying out for one. As you have come to expect it is a Star book with a difference, 12 double pages, pockets, flaps and pull outs. Absolutely stunning, even if I say so myself!
The latest in Tim’s configurations range. This time it’s a large shallow printers type tray, featuring 21 removable compartments. Decorated with Graphic 45’s Domestic Goddess, I have chosen a dressmaking theme. Scissors, bobbins, buttons, dress forms, snaps measures and needle case. The Kindness Rock Project is a new craze of painting rocks and placing them somewhere to put a smile on someone's face or giving the rock to a dear friend. Rocks are a wonderful surface to paint on, and you can varnish them, and they will keep forever in a pot in the garden, on your doorstep or as a paperweight on your desk. Mandala's look fantastic on them, as do quotes and bright colours. The possibilities are endless. In this workshop I'll show you how best to paint on rocks, what designs really work well and how to preserve them. I'll have a few of my own designs which I'll walk through how to do. Please bring a very fine tip paint brush, a white Signo pen and your reading glasses if you need them for close-up work.

A truly stunning unique album filled with , as the name suggests, tags with many different textures. Tags of all shapes, sizes and materials are beautifully covered with the gorgeous textured papers from Laura Ashley's Connemarra collection. The flock designs of the papers are stunning in their own right.
I first created this at the end of last year and it has proved to be a massive hit.I just love it, it is an album created from scratch with envelopes and tags from the 7gypsies eclectic paper line. Pockets anchored on an accordion fold filled to overflowing with decorated tags. But the main feature of this little beauty is a stunningly decorated box frame that comprises the front cover. A class not to be missed!

I have always been a bit preoccupied with tags, large, small, in fact any size. So I was over the moon to be part of the process in bringing out larger ones with Ranger. Size 10 and the ginormous size 12 to be precise. So what does one do with them? Well we turn them into pages of a mini album thats what we do. We will be stitching different sizes into 4 signatures and attaching them to an accordion folded tag. All decorated in the eclectic Dylusional christmas style. Stencils, stamps, inks and a certain amount of zuuuuuush !!
Flying Free - come and spend a day playing with the fantastic media that is Prima. We will use a variety of Prima products including the amazing Art Alchemy paints to create this stunning mixed media piece. Who doesn't love butterflies??? And we will certainly be including them on this fun canvas board project along with the brilliant art stones and of course the stunning Prima glass glitter.

Please bring along your art journal and your journal pens. Also if you have some completed tags, please feel free to bring them along.
In this full day workshop we will explore the use of watercolour media on your art journal pages, for this session we will concentrating on creating beautiful effects with neocolour2 watersoluble crayons, portfolio watersoluble crayons and we may even dabble with the fabulous brusho's. Come and play and discover a new love for this amazing medium !!

Just like journaling …but on a tiny scale! Mini journaling can be done in any small notebook or sketchbook, but due to its compact size it is quick, accessible and a lot of fun! It’s a great place to use up odds and ends of collage images, and a great place for all of your smaller stamps. We’ll be painting funky, colourful backgrounds and then adding tiny images and stamps to create glorious pages in miniature. Great for journaling on-the-go, or when real life gets in the way and you just haven’t got the time for a larger page….

This workshop features three colourfully decorated canvasses using Dylusions spray inks, stamps & stencils. Panel one is an enlargement of Dys very own Froggy Prince Charming. Panel two is a self-portrait of our heroine of the piece (that’s you btw). And panel three features the beautiful quotation of “The slower the kiss, the faster the heartbeat’. A new twist on an old favourite. One side of the tree is painted and you will learn a simple shading tecnique. The other side is collaged with fairy lights and baubles. This you will bring out year after year, thats if you can bear to put it away in the first place.
