Altered books – the art of taking an old unwanted book and altering it into a thing of beauty. Would you like to know how to make your own family heirloom to be handed down through the generations? Let me guide you through all the basics, treating the paper, to gesso or not to gesso, hidden draws, flaps and pockets. This week will be everything you need to set you off on your altered book journey with style.

You will start the day on Thursday, with coffee, snacks and brief introductions. Then we will dive straight into altered book goodness!

Friday's class will be more of the same and will finish at 5pm, where we will break for freshen ups and maybe a quick nap 😴 The classroom will remain open for free play alongside Dyan until 7:30pm

In Saturday and Sundays class we will be carrying on turning our old books into a thing of beauty that belongs in a museum. It's time for decorating and making it yours. We will be adding flaps, pockets, pull outs, tippings, decorating the pages with ephemera, collage and stamps

Workshop Timings - Thursday 10-5pm, Friday 10-5pm (free play 5-7:30pm), Saturday 10-5pm & Sunday 10-4pm.

Registration will open at 9:30am each day, so please come and check in via the shop before taking a seat in the classroom

Food & Drink - Lunch will be provided on all four days, along with snacks and hot & cold drinks to keep you fuelled up for the workshop. Please let me know if you have any allergies etc and I will do my best to accommodate them.

What to bring - Please bring along a book – it doesn't necessarily have to be old but it does have to be 1.5 – 2 inches thick. You can go buy a sturdy book from your local thrift store that would be perfect. Your favourite journaling/paint pens with you and contents of your pencil case. Everything else is included. If you have any personal photographs or ephemera you would like to use please bring along
